Creating Space for Engagement
An interesting tool designed to connect communities, organisations and design practitioners with each other to create a space for engagement on public issues.
The following is taken from Chora's website,
Chora has developed a concept and methodology for a dynamic urban planning management tool which they call the Urban Gallery. The gallery is a support tool for the practice of Urban Curation consisting of 4 components: database, prototype, and scenario game and action plan. Chora has employed the concept and methodology of the Urban Gallery to begin to create a cultural planning tool specifically for rethinking art in public space for Arnhem. How do we create the ideal conditions for the production and presentation of public art in Arnhem? How do we encourage a public art policy which is innovative, flexible and responsive to the existing and changing dynamics of the city?
This tool will make effective and productive links between communities, organisations and practitioners and the public spaces within Arnhem. It creates networks and exciting new collaborations within the metaspace, giving rise to innovative ideas. It is a tool which can be used again and again, to develop, test and negotiate projects and to maintain a network of relationships. If you want to read more you can go here.
